Kentucky loses 4-star PG recruit Acaden Lewis
Four-star lead guard Acaden Lewis has withdrawn his commitment from Kentucky's 2025 recruiting group.
Lewis, ranked as the 30th best player overall and 5th best at his position by the 247Sports composite, made his commitment to the Wildcats in November.
In a statement to ESPN on Thursday, Lewis stated, "I will always be appreciative of Coach (Mark) Pope and the entire Kentucky staff for having faith in me. It is evident that Kentucky is a special place with a fantastic fanbase, but as I consider what is best for my future, I have decided to reopen my recruitment."
"This was an extremely difficult decision, but after extensive discussions with my family and trusted individuals, I believe it is necessary. This is not a reflection of any negative feelings towards Coach Pope and Kentucky. Thank you for your understanding and I am excited for what lies ahead."
The 6-foot-2 Lewis excelled at Sidwell Friends School in Bethesda, Md., where he was named the Gatorade Player of the Year for the Washington, D.C. region during his junior year.
Before committing to Kentucky, Lewis also considered Duke, North Carolina, and UConn.
