Investigation Finds Coach Todd Golden Not Guilty of Stalking in Florida Case
A university investigation lasting four months has found no proof to support the claims of stalking against Florida men's basketball coach Todd Golden.
The university announced on Monday that the Title IX investigation has cleared Golden of allegations of sexual harassment, sexual exploitation, and stalking.
In a statement, university spokesman Steve Orlando said, "The University of Florida takes these matters seriously and works diligently to ensure that due process is upheld for all individuals. After a thorough investigation, which included numerous interviews over the past few months, the University of Florida has found no evidence of Title IX violations by Todd Golden. The Title IX office has closed its investigation."
Golden, who is 39 years old, is currently in his third season with the Gators. The team is currently ranked No. 5 and has won their last three games.
The complaint against Golden accused him of sending explicit photos and videos and making unwelcome sexual advances on social media.
The University Athletic Association also released a statement on Monday, saying, "The UAA acknowledges the completion of the review. We take these matters seriously and understand the importance of conducting the process with strict confidentiality and discretion."
The statement continued, "Throughout this process, Coach Golden has shown great focus and professionalism, and we commend him for that. As the Gators move forward, we reaffirm our commitment to promoting a championship experience with integrity."
Golden signed a two-year contract extension last March, increasing his annual salary to $4 million. His contract is valid until the 2029-2030 season.
