Illinois secures commitment from Cal transfer Andrej Stojakovic

Illinois secured a commitment from former Cal player Andrej Stojakovic on Monday.
Stojakovic, the son of former NBA star Peja Stojakovic, announced his decision on X. He ultimately chose the Illini over North Carolina and Stanford.
According to ESPN, Stojakovic said, \"They view me as the missing piece to their potential national championship team.\"
After spending his freshman year at Stanford, Stojakovic transferred to Cal for the 2024-25 season.
A highly-touted high school recruit, Stojakovic saw a significant increase in his stats while playing for the Golden Bears. In 29 games (28 starts), he averaged 17.9 points and 4.7 rebounds per game and was named to the All-ACC Tournament team.
Throughout his college career at Stanford and Cal, the 6-foot-7 guard has averaged 12.6 points and 4.0 rebounds per game in 61 total games (38 starts). Other schools that showed interest in him included Texas, UCLA, and Oregon.
