Former Michigan State point guard Tre Holloman pledges to NC State
Ex-Michigan State point guard Tre Holloman declared his commitment to North Carolina State on social media Sunday.
According to 247's composite rankings, Holloman was ranked as the No. 81 overall prospect and the No. 12 point guard in the transfer portal.
Despite being a team captain and receiving significant playing time in the 2024-25 season, Holloman struggled to earn a spot in the starting lineup, only starting 16 out of 37 games. However, the 6-2 guard still managed to set career highs in minutes (23.1), points (9.1), and assists (3.7), helping the Spartans win the Big Ten and make it to the Elite Eight in the NCAA Tournament this spring.
The Wolfpack's new head coach is former LSU and McNeese State coach Will Wade, who has been actively recruiting in the transfer portal due to the departure of seven players from last season's roster, including guard Trey Parker who announced his exit on Friday.
Holloman will join former McNeese State guards Alyn Breed and Quadier Copeland, as well as high school players Matthew Able and Zymicah Wilkins, in Raleigh. They will be joined by returning player Paul McNeil.
