Alijah Arenas, Trojans' newest addition, discharged from medical facility

Alijah Arenas, a basketball recruit from Southern California, has been discharged from the hospital after a car accident that occurred six days ago.
The family released a statement on Wednesday, expressing their gratitude that Arenas is now resting comfortably and receiving close attention.
Although his recovery journey is just beginning, Arenas' spirit remains strong and he is surrounded by love and support.
Arenas, who is a five-star guard in the Trojans' 2025 recruiting class, is the son of former NBA All-Star Gilbert Arenas.
Initially put into a medically induced coma due to smoke inhalation, Arenas did not sustain any major injuries in the crash, as confirmed by his father on a recent podcast.
According to multiple reports, Arenas was driving a Tesla Cybertruck when it collided with a fire hydrant and a tree, resulting in a fiery explosion in Reseda, California. The Los Angeles Times reported that drugs or alcohol were not believed to be involved in the accident.
The family is asking for privacy as they focus on Arenas' healing and well-being. They also expressed their gratitude for the continued prayers, encouragement, and support.
The 6-foot-6 Arenas reportedly turned down offers from top schools such as Arizona, Kansas, Kentucky, and Louisville before committing to USC. He is ranked as the No. 1 shooting guard and the No. 7 overall player in the 2025 class by 247Sports composite.
Arenas recently participated in the McDonald's All-American Game and played for Chatsworth High School in Los Angeles.
