"Warriors Forward Andrew Wiggins (back injury) sidelined against Pelicans"
Andrew Wiggins, the small forward for the Golden State Warriors, will not be playing in their home game against the New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday due to a strain in his lower back.
During their previous game against the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday, Wiggins' back became tight. Despite scoring 29 points and making 5 out of 8 shots from 3-point range, he will not be able to play in the upcoming game.
According to Golden State coach Steve Kerr, Wiggins did not sustain any specific injury during the game, but his back tends to tighten up at times.
At the age of 29, Wiggins has been averaging 19.7 points and 6.7 rebounds in the three games he has played so far.
In addition to Wiggins, the Warriors will also be without their star player Stephen Curry, who is dealing with a left ankle strain. He was also injured during Sunday's game and will not be playing in the back-to-back games against New Orleans. The two teams will face each other again on Wednesday night.
Curry, who is in his 16th season with the Warriors, has been averaging 18.3 points, 6.7 assists, and 5.3 rebounds in three games.
Another player from the Golden State team, De'Anthony Melton, will also be out due to a lower back strain for the two games.
