Suns anticipate participation from Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal against Lakers
The Phoenix Suns' top players, Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal, are set to make their return on Tuesday night as the Suns take on the Los Angeles Lakers.
Both athletes have been dealing with strained left calf injuries and have been listed as probable for the game.
According to Suns coach Mike Budenholzer, both Durant and Beal participated in Monday's light workout and are expected to play. Budenholzer stated, "We'll wait and see how they feel, but we're hopeful and excited for them to play."
Durant has been absent for the past seven games, resulting in a 1-6 record for the Suns. Beal's injury has caused the team to go 0-5.
Tuesday's game will be the Suns' first since their 138-122 loss to the New York Knicks, extending their losing streak to five games.
Beal expressed his gratitude for the team's recent schedule, stating, "I definitely feel a lot better. I'm thankful for the rest days we had, both for me and Kev."
Durant, 36, was playing exceptionally well before his injury, averaging 27.6 points and 6.6 rebounds. He has also made 42.9% of his 3-point shots.
Beal, 31, has been averaging 17.8 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 3.7 assists.
Budenholzer is confident that integrating the two players back into the team's strategy will not be an issue. He stated, "They are both experienced veterans. It's just basketball. They need to go out and play. We will rely on their intelligence and experience and encourage them to compete and play together."
