"Newcomer Ja'Kobe Walter of the Raptors limited in beginning training camp"

Toronto Raptors newcomer Ja\'Kobe Walter will not be able to participate in any on-court activities during the upcoming training camp in Montreal due to a shoulder ailment.

He sustained a sprain in his right acromioclavicular (AC) joint, which is where the collarbone connects to the scapula, during informal workouts earlier this week. The Raptors have stated that they will provide an update on his condition after the conclusion of training camp.

Walter, who is 20 years old, was chosen by the Raptors as the 19th overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft from Baylor University.

The 6-foot-5 guard was named the Big 12 Freshman of the Year and received All-Big 12 Third Team honors last season. He averaged 14.5 points and 4.4 rebounds per game while shooting 34.1 percent from beyond the arc in 35 games, all of which he started.
