Dallas Mavericks star point guard Luka Doncic is currently dealing with a strained right wrist and will be re-evaluated in one week, according to an announcement made by the team on Thursday morning.

Doncic missed his first game of the season on Sunday due to a right knee bruise, but returned to the court just two days later and put up 26 points in the Mavericks' 132-91 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans in NBA Cup action.

Following Tuesday's game, Doncic downplayed the injury and assured reporters that it was not a serious issue.

According to the team, Doncic underwent an MRI after the game.

The Mavericks have a tough road trip ahead, starting with a game against the Denver Nuggets on Friday. They will also face the Miami Heat and Atlanta Hawks on Sunday and Monday, respectively, before returning home to host the New York Knicks on Wednesday.

In his 14 games played this season, the 25-year-old Doncic is averaging 28.1 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 7.6 assists.

Doncic, a five-time First Team All-NBA selection, holds career averages of 28.7 points, 8.6 rebounds, and 8.3 assists in 414 games (all starts) with the Mavericks.
