Lonzo Ball of Bulls to miss at least four games due to wrist injury
Chicago Bulls point guard Lonzo Ball has once again been plagued by an injury and will be absent for at least four games due to a sprained right wrist, the team announced on Tuesday.
Ball sustained the injury during the first quarter of the Bulls' 126-123 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday night. Despite the injury, he continued to play and contributed six points and six assists in 18 minutes off the bench.
This is another unfortunate setback for Ball, who has missed the last two seasons due to issues with his left knee. Prior to playing in the Bulls' season opener on October 23rd, Ball had not played in a game since January 14th, 2022.
The Bulls stated that Ball will be re-evaluated in 10 days and they do not anticipate the injury to be a long-term problem.
Chicago had already been resting Ball during back-to-back games in order to help him get back into top form.
In the three games he has played this season, the 27-year-old has only come off the bench and has averaged 4.7 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 3.7 assists.
Ball was selected by the Los Angeles Lakers as the second overall pick in the 2017 draft.
The Bulls, who have a record of 2-2 so far, will face the Orlando Magic at home on Wednesday. Ball is also expected to miss games against the Brooklyn Nets on Friday, the Utah Jazz on Monday, and the Dallas Mavericks on November 6th.
