"Knee Injury Sidelines Paul George for 2 Games Due to Bone Bruise"

The Philadelphia 76ers will be without Paul George for a minimum of two games due to a bone bruise in his left knee.

On Thursday, the team announced that an MRI on George's knee revealed no structural damage after he went down early in the third quarter of Wednesday's 117-111 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies.

Initially, the injury was described as a hyperextended left knee. George had already missed the first five games of the season while recovering from a similar injury sustained during the preseason.

This Friday, the 76ers will face the Brooklyn Nets, followed by a game against George's former team, the Los Angeles Clippers, on Sunday, both at home.

George signed a four-year, $212 million max contract with the 76ers in free agency. In eight games so far, he has averaged 14.9 points, 5.4 rebounds, 4.8 assists, and 2.3 steals.

At 2-12, the Sixers currently hold the worst record in the league. Wednesday's game against Memphis was the first time the team's new "big three" of Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, and George played together, as injuries and suspensions have kept them out of the lineup for parts of the season.
