The Los Angeles Clippers' top scorer, Norman Powell, will be absent for a second consecutive game on Friday as he recovers from a left hamstring strain.

Powell, who has been averaging 23.3 points in 15 games this season, sustained the injury during the first quarter of their 102-99 win against the Golden State Warriors on Monday. Despite the injury, he managed to finish the game and lead the team with 23 points.

The 31-year-old did not participate in the Clippers' 104-93 victory over the Orlando Magic on Wednesday. However, their win marked the first time in seven games that the Magic allowed an opponent to score over 100 points.

Head coach Tyronn Lue stated that Powell's condition will be evaluated before their away game against the Philadelphia 76ers on Sunday.

In Powell's absence, Amir Coffey stepped up with 18 points and Jordan Miller played 16 minutes off the bench, contributing eight points.

Throughout his 10 seasons in the NBA, Powell has averaged 12.6 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.5 assists in 572 career games (214 starts). This season, he has taken on a primary scoring role due to Paul George's departure to the 76ers and Kawhi Leonard's ongoing knee issues, which have prevented the six-time All-Star from playing a single game.
