Jeremy Lamb to retire from NBA after 10 seasons
Talented first-round pick Jeremy Lamb announced his retirement from the NBA on Wednesday after spending 10 seasons with four different teams.
Lamb, who last appeared in the league in 2022, shared his decision on Instagram.
\"Basketball has been a major part of my life, so this was not an easy choice. However, I have made the decision to retire from the sport that has given me everything,\" Lamb wrote in the post, expressing gratitude to his family, friends, teammates, and coaches.
At 32 years old, Lamb was chosen as the No. 12 overall pick in the 2012 NBA draft by the Houston Rockets. He was then traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder in October of that same year as part of the James Harden deal.
Throughout his career, Lamb averaged 10.1 points and 3.6 rebounds in 573 games (136 starts) for the Thunder (2012-15), Charlotte Hornets (2015-19), Indiana Pacers (2019-22), and Sacramento Kings (2022).
Lamb was also a member of the University of Connecticut's 2011 national championship team.
