Jazz team chooses to include coach Will Hardy's contract in exercise option
The Utah Jazz utilized the option on head coach Will Hardy's agreement Friday, securing him for the duration of the 2025-26 season.
Hardy, 36, commences his third year with the Jazz with a 68-96 record. He is the second-youngest coach in the league, trailing only Joe Mazzulla of the Boston Celtics.
\"Will has performed admirably in guiding our program and instilling the proper principles and competitive habits within our youthful squad,\" stated Utah general manager Justin Zanik. \"The organization eagerly anticipates growing alongside Will as we strive for long-term triumph through calculated and intentional development.\"
Prior to joining Utah as the first coach hired by owners Ryan and Ashley Smith, Hardy served as an assistant coach for the Celtics (2021-22) and the San Antonio Spurs (2016-21).
The details of Hardy's contract were not revealed.
The Jazz commence the 2024-25 NBA regular season at home against the Memphis Grizzlies on October 23.
