Jaden Ivey, Pistons' Guard, Receives Medical Clearance to Resume Basketball Training
Detroit Pistons guard Jaden Ivey, who has been out of action since January 1st due to a fractured left fibula, received clearance on Thursday to resume playing basketball.
According to the team, the 23-year-old Ivey will now begin the initial phase of a re-conditioning program, with his status set to be re-evaluated in two weeks.
The Pistons (43-36) have secured their first playoff berth since 2019 and currently hold the sixth spot in the Eastern Conference with three games left in the regular season. The playoffs are set to commence on April 19th, following the play-in tournament.
In the 30 games he played this season (all as a starter), Ivey averaged 17.6 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 4.0 assists. Since being drafted fifth overall by Detroit in 2022, he has contributed 16.1 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 4.4 assists in 181 games (164 starts).
