"Season-Ending Injury: Hornets' F Grant Williams Sidelined with Knee Issue"
Charlotte Hornets power forward Grant Williams will be out for the remainder of the season due to a severe injury to his right knee sustained in the team's 125-119 defeat against the Milwaukee Bucks on Saturday, according to a report from ESPN.
Williams suffered a torn ACL, meniscus, and other ligaments while driving to the basket with 3:52 remaining in the game, as reported by ESPN.
In the current season, Williams has been averaging 10.4 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 2.3 assists in 16 games (including seven starts). He is one of six players on the Hornets (6-10) who have been scoring in double digits.
Next week, Williams will turn 26 and was originally drafted by the Boston Celtics in 2019. He was acquired by the Hornets in a trade with the Dallas Mavericks in February.
Throughout his career, Williams has maintained averages of 7.2 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 1.5 assists in 380 games (including 108 starts) among the three teams he has played for.
