Heat and Pacers Reach Agreement on Trading Thomas Bryant, According to Report
According to ESPN, the Indiana Pacers have reportedly come to an agreement to acquire center Thomas Bryant from the Miami Heat on Friday.
As per the report, Bryant will become eligible for trade this Sunday and the Heat will trade him to Indiana in exchange for future second-round draft picks.
Bryant, who is currently in his eighth season in the NBA and second with the Heat, has appeared in 10 games this season and has averaged 4.1 points and 3.2 rebounds in 11.5 minutes per game. These are his lowest averages since his rookie year.
Throughout his career, Bryant has played in 277 games (138 starts) for the Los Angeles Lakers (2017-18; 2022-23), Washington Wizards (2018-22), Denver Nuggets (2023), and Heat (2023-24). He has maintained an average of 9.3 points and 5.4 rebounds per game.
The Pacers were in need of a new backup center after losing both Isaiah Jackson and James Wiseman to torn Achilles tendons. Bryant played college basketball at Indiana.
