Stephen Curry, the star player for the Golden State Warriors, will be absent from a minimum of two games this week due to an ankle injury.

According to the team's announcement on Monday, an MRI revealed that there is no structural damage, but Curry has suffered a left peroneal tendon strain.

Curry, who is 36 years old, will undergo a re-evaluation on Friday. The Warriors are scheduled to play the New Orleans Pelicans in back-to-back games on Tuesday and Wednesday, followed by a road game against the Houston Rockets on Saturday.

The ankle injury occurred during Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Clippers, where the Warriors lost 112-104 at home.

Curry initially left the game in the third quarter with 2:43 remaining after injuring his ankle. However, he returned to the game in the fourth quarter with 8:08 remaining, only to aggravate the injury and leave for good. He was seen limping and receiving support from teammate Gary Payton II.

Despite the injury, Curry managed to score 18 points in 27 minutes. He also made four of his seven 3-point attempts and had six assists.

In his 16th season with the Warriors, Curry has been averaging 18.3 points, 6.7 assists, and 5.3 rebounds in three games.

The 10-time All-Star and two-time NBA MVP currently holds the record for most 3-point field goals (3,758) and career free-throw percentage (.910) in the league.
