The Cleveland Cavaliers officially declared a multi-year agreement extension for center Jarrett Allen on Friday.

The exact terms were not revealed, however several media sources reported that it was a three-year maximum extension valued at $91 million. Allen's contract will now run through the 2028-29 season.

"We are extremely pleased that Jarrett Allen has chosen to extend his time in Cleveland during the prime of his career," stated Cavaliers president of basketball operations Koby Altman.

"Jarrett's development as a player, at only 26 years old, was accelerated when he earned his first All-Star selection in 2022. He is the cornerstone of our core group of players and his presence aligns with our goal of sustainable success. Jarrett also embodies the culture and values of our organization, and we are excited to achieve even greater accomplishments together."

Last season, Allen recorded career-high averages of 16.5 points and 10.5 rebounds in 77 starts for Cleveland.

He holds career averages of 12.7 points and 9.1 rebounds in 486 games (421 starts) for the Brooklyn Nets (2017-21) and the Cavaliers. He was chosen as the No. 22 overall pick by the Nets in the 2017 NBA Draft.

Allen becomes the third Cavaliers player to secure an extension this summer, joining All-Star guard Donovan Mitchell and forward Evan Mobley. Mitchell signed a three-year contract worth $150.3 million, while Mobley agreed to a five-year, $224.2 million deal.
