Breaking News: 76ers Ink Deal with French Olympic Star Guerschon Yabusele
Agreement has been reached between the Philadelphia 76ers and Guerschon Yabusele, with the forward signing a one-year contract worth $2.1 million, according to ESPN's report on Sunday.
Yabusele, a powerful 6-foot-8 and 260-pound power forward, was a key player for the French team that won the silver medal at the recent Olympics. He scored an impressive 20 points in the gold-medal match against the United States and averaged 14.0 points and 3.3 rebounds throughout the tournament.
The 28-year-old was originally drafted by the Boston Celtics as the 16th overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft. He played for the Celtics for two seasons, averaging 2.3 points and 1.4 rebounds in 74 games (including five starts), before being released in the summer of 2019.
Following his time in Boston, Yabusele played one season in China and two in France before joining Real Madrid for the past three seasons.
