"76ers Claim First Victory of Season in OT Against Pacers: NBA Recap"

Tyrese Maxey tallied 45 points, with 10 coming in overtime, as the Philadelphia 76ers completed a late comeback to secure their first victory of the season, defeating the Indiana Pacers 118-114 on Sunday in Indianapolis.

Maxey's impressive performance in overtime began with a deep, step-back 3-pointer for the first points of the period. He then drove to the rim with 20.7 seconds left, resulting in a goaltending violation and extending the Sixers' lead to three points.

Although Maxey was called for a foul on Andrew Nembhard's shot in the following possession, Nembhard only made 1 of 2 free throws, allowing Philadelphia to hold on for the win. Maxey also contributed four rebounds and four assists in the victory.

While Maxey delivered in the clutch, it was a team effort that led the Sixers to overtime. They had fallen behind 102-97 with just over a minute remaining in the fourth quarter after a Nembhard jumper.

Indiana's Tyrese Haliburton hit a 3-pointer right before the end of the fourth quarter to force overtime. Haliburton finished with a team-high 22 points, but surprisingly had more turnovers (three) than assists (two).

In other Sunday games, the Los Angeles Clippers defeated the Golden State Warriors 112-104, with Ivica Zubac and James Harden leading the way with 23 points each. Norman Powell and Derrick Jones Jr. also contributed 20 and 18 points, respectively, for the Clippers.

The Oklahoma City Thunder beat the Atlanta Hawks 128-104, thanks to a stellar performance from Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who recorded 35 points, 11 rebounds, and nine assists. Chet Holmgren and Jalen Williams also had strong showings, scoring 25 and 20 points, respectively.

The Brooklyn Nets secured a 115-102 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks, with Cam Thomas scoring 32 points and Dennis Schroder adding 29 points. Giannis Antetokounmpo led the Bucks with 22 points, 12 rebounds, and seven assists.

The Portland Trail Blazers dominated the New Orleans Pelicans 125-103, with Jerami Grant scoring 28 points and Deandre Ayton recording a double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds. CJ McCollum also had a strong showing for the Blazers, scoring 27 points.
