The Minnesota Twins have decided to retain Rocco Baldelli as their manager for the upcoming season, despite their collapse towards the end of the 2024 season which resulted in them missing the postseason.

According to Twins president of baseball operations Derek Falvey, "Rocco is my manager," as he confirmed the decision to reporters before Sunday's final game against the Baltimore Orioles.

At the age of 43, Baldelli led the Twins to an 87-75 record and an American League Central title last year. They then swept the Toronto Blue Jays in the wild-card round, marking their first successful playoff series in 21 years.

In his first year as manager in 2019, Baldelli's team went 101-61 and won the division. This success continued in his second year, with the Twins once again winning the division.

During his six years as manager, the Twins have a record of 457-412, including a record of 82-79 this year. However, after a win on August 17, the team went on a downward spiral, going 12-26 and allowing division rivals Detroit Tigers and Kansas City Royals to surpass them in the wild-card race.
