Pirates Sign INF/OF Adam Frazier to 1-Year Contract

Experienced infielder/outfielder Adam Frazier is returning to the Pittsburgh Pirates on a one-year deal.

The specifics of the contract, announced on Wednesday, were not revealed, but multiple sources have reported its value to be $1.525 million.

Frazier, now 33, was selected in the sixth round by Pittsburgh in 2013 and played for the team from 2016-21.

Last season, he recorded a .202 batting average with four home runs and 22 RBIs in 104 games with the Kansas City Royals.

Throughout his career, Frazier has maintained a .264 average with 60 home runs and 339 RBIs in 1,066 games with the Pirates, San Diego Padres (2021), Seattle Mariners (2022), Baltimore Orioles (2023), and Royals. He was also selected for the National League All-Star team in 2021.

Frazier has primarily played second base in his 734 game appearances, with 650 starts at the position. He was a finalist for the Gold Glove award in 2019 and 2020.
