"Marlins Designate Nick Gordon as INF/OF for Assignment"
In need of available spots on the active roster, the Miami Marlins designated infielder/outfielder Nick Gordon for assignment on Monday.
The Marlins also activated outfielder Derek Hill onto the roster after he was claimed off waivers from the San Francisco Giants. Additionally, Miami picked up right-hander Brett de Geus off waivers from the Seattle Mariners.
