Dodgers Reach One-Year Agreement with Right-Handed Pitcher Dustin May
Right-hander Dustin May reached an agreement with the Los Angeles Dodgers for a one-year contract worth $2.135 million before the tender deadline on Friday.
May has only started 30 games since the 2020 season due to injuries and was unable to play during the Dodgers' victorious 2024 World Series campaign.
The 27-year-old May has a record of 12-9 with a 3.10 ERA in 46 games (34 starts) over five seasons with the Los Angeles team (2019-23). He has struck out 174 batters and walked 57 in 191 2/3 innings.
May underwent Tommy John surgeries in May 2021 and July 2023. He also had surgery this July to repair a tear in his esophagus.
MLB teams have until 8 p.m. ET on Friday to offer contracts to players eligible for arbitration. Players who are not offered contracts become free agents. May will be eligible for free agency after the 2025 season.
