"Doublets put UT William Castro (oblique) on disabled roster"

The Minnesota Twins put versatile player Willi Castro on the 10-day disabled list on Thursday due to a strained right oblique.
The action is retroactive to April 21.
Castro, who celebrated his 28th birthday on Thursday, has not participated in a game since April 16. The ambidextrous batter has a .227 batting average with one home run and five runs batted in over 18 games this season.
A participant in the All-Star game in 2024, Castro has a lifetime .247 batting average with 46 home runs and 200 runs batted in across 603 games with the Detroit Tigers (2019-22) and Twins. He has started at second base, shortstop, third base, all three outfield positions, and as a designated hitter.
In corresponding moves, the Twins promoted utilityman Mickey Gasper from Triple-A St. Paul and demoted right-handed pitcher David Festa to St. Paul.
