Spurs' Dylan Harper: Undergoes thumb surgery
The Spurs announced Harper underwent surgery on his injured left thumb Friday, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.
Harper was selected No. 2 overall in the 2025 NBA Draft and is expected to be a big part of the future for the storied franchise. The team hopes he'll be ready for the start of the 2025-26 campaign, which will get underway on Oct. 22 on the road against the Mavericks.

Spurs' Stanley Umude: Signs Exhibit 10 deal
Umude agreed to an Exhibit 10 contract with the Spurs on Tuesday, Paul Garcia of ProjectSpurs.com reports.
Umude will compete for a spot on the Spurs' regular-season roster on a non-guaranteed deal. The 26-year-old swingman spent the 2024-25 campaign on a two-way deal with Milwaukee, averaging just 3.9 minutes per game in 22 regular-season appearances. Over 13 outings with the G League's Wisconsin Herd, he averaged 17.5 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 27.9 minutes per game.

Spurs' Jeremy Sochan: Dealing with calf strain
Sochan sustained a strained calf during practice with the Polish national team and won't play in EuroBasket, though he's expected to make a full recovery in time for the Spurs' training camp, Jeff Garcia of KENS 5 San Antonio reports.
Sochan's time with the Polish national team has been cut short, and he will now focus on his recovery ahead of San Antonio's training camp. The 22-year-old appeared in 54 regular-season outings last season, averaging 11.4 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2.4 assists while shooting a career-high 53.5 percent from the floor across 25.3 minutes per game.
